We got to know Dr. Vater as a cooperation partner in a very important project and as a companion for our intra-organizational development process. We asked Dr. Vater to support us during a delicate stage for the company (and the management team affected thereby). With great sensitivity, strong commitment and empathy, Dr. Vater managed to get a picture of the situation within a very short time and proved excellent in dealing with the changes in the team’s composition. Within just a few workshops, these findings were - supported by an additional team-analysis tool (BELBIN) - discussed in the team transparently and analyzed; from that, the necessary conclusions were drawn and converted into concrete action items. For many of us, myself included, that was the key to the knowledge of our team’s potential that can be fully developed only together. Without the patient, competent and sympathetic accompaniment in this process by Dr. Vater, the form would not have succeeded.

The Kinderbüro (http://kinder.univie.ac.at) is the latest offshoot of the oldest organization in the country, the University of Vienna: dynamic meets stable, new meets old, small meets large. A tension in the last ten years has been that a small project has grown into a mid-size company – and has maintained its high objectives but also reached its limits. Ms. Vater accompanied our strategic examination. Her questions were exactly the challenge that we needed. At the right time, she put her finger on the problem, and also at the right time, helped heal the wounds. She has encouraged us along the way and laughed a lot with us. She not only perceived our values but also understood and helped us on a necessary step in professionalization – without losing our identity. Dr. Gundi Vater has accompanied my way for more than 20 years. As a central trainer at Hernstein General Management Training in 1994/95, she set values in an impressive form sustainably influencing our HGMT team. For the past 21 years, we have had our annual HGMT update with her. In addition, I have included Dr. Vater in the positioning and the preparation of future prospects in the company which I lead.What is so special about her? In an incomparable way, she manages the various currents, the unspoken resistances of the employees and managers, addressing them in the correct manner.
